The children’s choir has been practicing songs for the
Children’s Christmas performance on Sunday,
December 11, during worship. Thank you, Stepan,
for being such a great instructor!
The Children’s Christmas party, at which they help
decorate the Christmas tree in the sanctuary and may
also practice their songs for Christmas, is scheduled
for Saturday December 3.
The party is still being
planned so mark your calendars and stay tuned!
Sherri could always use adult volunteers as well, so
let her know if you would like to help.
Details will be communicated to parents/
grandparents separately with time or other details as
the party may be before the next newsletter edition.
Children and Youth Choir:
Stepan is excited about continuing
to work with the children and youth choir, and hopes to have
them perform during worship in the future (not just for holidays).
Summer Sunday School: What is Summer Sunday School?
Well, it is NOT a vacation from spiritual development for our
kids. But it IS a change from separate classes and a structured
curriculum, and it IS a bit of a break for our teacher volunteers.
And it IS an excellent way to get to spend a bit of time on a Sunday
with our kids with a minimum of effort. We are hoping
to start the summer program after Memorial Day weekend,
and are seeking volunteers to sign up now. All ages will participate
together, and older youth will help with the younger ones.
 The classes may include Veggie Tales dvds (bible
stories and themes as told by vegetable cartoons) or
bible based games and crafts. Materials will be
provided. As our teacher volunteers spend two
weeks every month with their classes, our goal is
to provide an opportunity for our kids to get to
know others in the congregation during the summer.
Please consider signing up for one or two
slots!
CYP is hoping
to provide an activity for each age group of our
kids, including a possible youth outing for pizza
and the movie Soul Surfer, an overnight at the
Bueno's house, and a trip to Happy Hollow for the
little ones.
And then there is the annual Pancake
Breakfast, the summer picnic, camp at Westminster
Woods, and VBS at the end of the summer!
Things
are busy with Children & Youth Programs, and we
could use your help! If you would like to help with
