On Sunday afternoon, April 3,
walkers from FPC and our friends
from Grace and First Christian (with whom we had a fund-raising
contest) participated in the CROP walk fund-raiser
for Church World Service which has people on the ground
in all the developing places in the world and works on
hunger and poverty relief.
Twenty-five percent of all the
funds earned at this event will stay here locally to benefit
Sacred Heart Community Service and Second Harvest
Food Bank.
BIG THANKS go to CROP Walk organizer
Michele Hare who did a terrific job pulling our team
together for the
race and encouraging
everyone
to get walk
sponsors in order
to raise more
money than our
friends at First
Christian and
Grace Baptist.

The confirmation class (Here pictured John and Patrick Tierney, two girls from Foothill
Church and Rev. Ben Daniel,) led by Pastor Sharon and Pastor Ben Daniel (Foothill
Pres.) met for the walk. They talked about the Christian responsibilities for the poor,
the hungry, social justice, etc, which was great. At a mile, it wasn't a long talk, but a
good one! |
