COMING EVENTS - First Presbyterian Church San Jose

5th Sunday

January 29, 2012 will mark our third year of 5th Sunday Service Worship Days, our 9th 5th Sunday! We go into this event knowing this is worship God would surely smile on and indeed the kind of action mentioned in James 1:22 and Matthew 25:35-40. The day will begin at 10:30 a.m. with a Commissioning Worship Service. Then we will proceed to our projects.

	5th Sunday PROJECTS:	5th Sunday NEEDS:
	At Town Park Towers, our low-income senior citizens housing project next door to our church BINGO: We will lead residents in playing bingo. NEEDS: We need some people to help with the Bingo games, some misc. prizes for the Bingo winners, and some snacks to eat while playing.	• Gifts for Bingo winners (can be small things, even “re-gifted items, kitchen and bathroom needs like paper towels, Kleenex, dish soap, etc.) that older folks would like. • Snacks for Bingo players
	MAKE LUNCH for homeless teenagers at the Bill Wilson Drop In Center. We will be reheating some soup from our New Year's Day event and baking some muffins and cookies to go with it. We will also be making 25 bag lunches for the Bill Wilson workers to give out when doing outreach around the area to kids who don’t want to come to the center or who don’t know about the Center.	Lunch components: • Recipes of cookie dough ready to bake plus baking instructions e.g. oven temperature and time. • Bottles of apple juice • Supplies to make up 25 lunch bags (sandwich bread, mayo, mustard, bologna, salami or turkey, cheese slices, and juice boxes.)
	MAKE LUNCHES for homeless people who come to our door for our own Front Door Ministry.	We need someone to chair this event. We need parts of the lunches (Vienna sausages, cereal bars, small containers of applesauce or canned fruit, small bags of peanuts, etc.
	BUNDLE PLASTICWARE for homeless shelters run by InnVision and EHCLifebuilders.	Boxes/packages of plastic ware

PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY

Do you like to crochet or knit? Sew or do needlework? Everyone welcome! We meet on the 1^st Sunday and 3^rd Thursdays. We will make shawls, lap blankets, baby blankets, etc for those in need. More details...
