PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY

Prayer Shawl Ministry“You created every part of me, knitting me in my Mother’s womb. For such handiwork, I praise you. Awesome this great wonder!” -- Psalm 139: 13-14

The First Presbyterian Prayer Shawl Ministry is going strong. Started in April of 2008, eleven prayer shawls or blankets have been distributed to members of our church, as well as others, needing comfort and healing.

The Ministry meets at the church on the first and third Thursdays of each month from 7-9 p.m.

Everyone is welcome. Knitting, quilting, crocheting and other needlework is done in God’s house. If you would like a prayer shawl or blanket distributed to someone in need of comfort, please contact Pastor Bob.

In order to provide funds for the purchase of yarn, Madeline Davis has created a beautiful small quilt as a fund raiser. Session has given its permission for a drawing to be held with proceeds from free-will donations to go into a special account under the mission budget. Suggested donation for drawing tickets 6 for $5. Donations were accepted at the first two Salad Suppers. Additional donations will be accepted at the final Salad Supper the first Wednesday in August.
